These may be fragile otherwise GREAT By snowdancer from Golden, CO on 09/28/2009 Pros: Adequate Tint, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Polarization, Good Protection, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Classic Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Read other reviews and bought in spite of them. I wouldn't pay over [$] for these at this price cannot be any better. Polarization is very good. Frames may be frigle and are very light weight.
Sit/Feel Good and Straight w/o adjusting By TheBob_1 from Virginia on 09/21/2009 Pros: Adequate Tint, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Lightweight Cons: Fire a little too orangy Best Uses: At The Beach, Casual Wear, Driving Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-Oriented, Practical, Simple but stylish design Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If anything, these feel a bit larger than I had hoped based upon the measurements given, but not so big I would return them. BY the looks, I would expect them to fall off my face or look too squarish, but they don't! Feel great and sit perfectly straight on my face - something many others don't (God knows why!).
"Fire" tint is somewhat disappointing. I have some Maui Jims that have "Rose" which is infinitely better. These fire tinted Reptiles take out most of the blues - and I LIKE blue :) The MJ's actually accentuate the blues, as do Serengeti "Sedona Rose" lenses.
All in all, a great pair of shades. The color (tinting) is all about personal preference.
Lastly, I noticed the "arms" have a "reptilian" finish that look black at first. Kinda cool!
Great for driving on cloudy days By Shark from Colorado Springs, Co on 09/14/2009 Pros: Adequate Tint, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Polarization, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Driving, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-Oriented, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good deal, but maybe a bit fragile
Decent glasses but this is an OEM model By Kayenine from Hood River, OR on 09/01/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Polarization, Lightweight Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Beware that these glasses come in a plastic bag, period. So if you were expecting a nice case and perhaps a cleaning cloth and some literature like a warranty card then fugget about it. STP is usually good about describing any faults in merchandise such as "seconds" or "minor blemishes" but for this item the buyer is expecting to get the same product that they would get in a retail store which is not the case. When I asked about this the response was something like, "well, you are getting them at a discount". However nice optics and overall good quality glasses. I would have kept them despite my gripes but the nose bridge protrutes into field of vision to the extent that it was distracting. I felt like Steve Martin in "The Jerk" (without the class action lawsuit).
Best sunglasses I've ever owned By Avid Outdoorswoman from Michigan on 02/10/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Polarization, Good Protection, Lightweight Best Uses: At The Beach, Casual Wear, Driving, Gardening, Shooting, Snow, Travel Describe Yourself: Career, Comfort-Oriented, Modern, Practical, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Reptile sunglasses are my favorite brand. They offer great clarity in all types of weather. The Reptile website can give you info on choosing the best lens color depending on your use. I highly recommend purchasing these. It's an unbelievable price.
By PrincessRyden from Fair Grove, MO on 01/13/2009 Pros: Adequate Tint, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Polarization, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Driving, Special Occasions, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-Oriented, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't had much chance to wear them yet, but I will. It hasn't been that sunny here. They look just like what I wanted and I like the weight and feel so far.
Poor Quality Craftsmanship By Willy P from St Louis, MO/Jackson, WY on 01/12/2009 Pros: Adequate Tint, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Polarization, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Ok, I realize that sunglasses are not made to be the most resilient objects in the world, but after having glasses advertised at $200+, I thought they would last longer than a week! In fact, these only lasted me a couple days. I bought them for a ski trip- I even refused to wear them skiing- the lenses really are great (though if they are like others I've had, that will go with time)- after having them in my jacket pocket during dinner, I took them out to find- AH! The lenses were loose from the frame- and I need some special tool to tighten it! How frustrating! I was really excited about these glasses and discovering a new brand- but I will not purchase from Reptile again.
