By MD from Washington DC on 05/12/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Stable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good WIDE boot. Having 13 6E size its tough to find any boots. This one fits great. I did get one size larger to keep room for larger socks. So far they fit and feel great.
By sasquatch from Valdese, NC on 04/25/2008 Describe Yourself: All around, Cognisant, Conservative, Practical Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Felt like putting on Cinderella's slipper. Too...tight in the width, and I am a normal "D" width. Had to force my feet in, loosening the laces all the way out, top to bottom! Don't even consider pulling them tight if you plan to use them. Thought it might need some serious breaking in, so I gave it a few 4-5 hr days of garden work and digging/moving rock. Didn't matter much, except to make it only slightly easier to get my feet in. But it still hurt the top of my ankle to go up & down steps. I normally wear a summer style boot sock, and I think the most this boot can tolerate is a sock liner, with no additions. Also, the tongue is too short to keep the top knot from popping over onto the shin when used on any incline, and that is what my property is all about. Good structural support for the ankle (must consider the aforementioned, though). Would not even consider using these for hiking, or anything beyond level ground, though the traction seemed good on the loose rock around here!
