By holyroller from Oakdale on 01/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Lightweight, Multi-Use, Secure Fit Best Uses: Everyday/Practical Use Describe Yourself: Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are so durable and strongly supported!! I am very heavy and this brand of shoes is the most comfortable I have ever found and I love all the hip designs and the greatest thing is I can always find a pair on clearance thru Sierra, thank God because I wouldn't be able to afford the regular price! Thanks again Sierra for having this brand!!!!
Sturdy Well Fitting Low Hiker By Mountain High Desert Rat from Albuquerque, NM on 12/07/2008 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Narrow Size, Secure Fit Best Uses: Trail WalkingHiking Describe Yourself: Regular WalkerHiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's amazing to find a trail shoe that actually comes in a Narrow, and is as reasonably priced as these Terrastryder's are! I wear a 9 1/2 to 10 N in a dress shoe and ordered the 10N, which fits well. Normally I can't buy a low hiker because my heel will slip out of almost all in Med width so I have to buy a mid or higher boot to hold my heel in; not so with these. I replaced the insole with an 'arched' insert. This is NOT a trail running shoe; the soles are a bit stiff for that. The sole is Vibram with a rugged tread and has good support for a longer hike or walking on cobblestones or other rough surfaces. I'd recommend a short break in time if you can. If you want a soft flexible walking shoe, this is not it, but if you have a long, narrow, hard to fit foot, here's a chance to get a good-fitting, reasonably priced low hiking shoe.
excellent shoe- works great!! By rennopup from Longview, WA on 11/10/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy On/Off, Multi-Use Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: keep my feet dry
By Litmouse3 from Charlotte, N.C. on 09/04/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Shoe is very stiff and uncomfortable, even after wearing for a week. The tongue has several hard spots that actually hurt my feet. I read the reviews and thought they would be suitable for outdoor wear. Even though I only paid [$] it was a waste of money because I can not wear the shoe. Feet hurt after wearing them.
By Litmouse3 from North Carolina on 08/20/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Really a good shoe for the price. Does run a little narrow. My only con is the tongue is uncomfortable.
By shuhlann from corvallis, oregon on 08/17/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought a pair of Dunham hiking boots a few years ago and totally wore them out. I loved that they fit my narrow feet and supported my high arches especially, so I ordered these - hoping the fit would be the same.
It is and I'm happy. They're comfortable but not cushy - I need extra stability since a less than perfect toe joint surgery, and these do the job beautifully. So glad to have a great pair of hiking shoes again.
By looking for the right shoes from New England on 08/07/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: They were too small and too narrow, so I returned them. Hard to say how well they were made since I didn't keep them.
These "wide" shoes weren't really wide By Susan from Pennsylvania on 08/05/2008 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This was one of the few shoes that came in "Wide Width" but even in Wide were narrow. If htese are "wide" the "medium" must be narrow.
