By chipperg from Tampa Bay, FL on 07/31/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Washes Easily Cons: A few more vents, Wish it had a few more ve Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shirt is great as a light jacket in air conditioning; a little hot for the humidity we have in FL, but it dries very quickly. A few more vents would be nice.

Both look great and the sleeves can also be rolled up with a tab inside the sleeve to keep them up!
Great shirt but there's one problem By Johnbeliever from Fruita, Colorado on 07/20/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Washes Easily Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Great shirt--looks good and provides and excellent fit. Easy to wash and dries overnight.
But one manufacturing flaw: one of the velcrow tabs is missing for roll-up shirt sleves so will have to have my wife repair it. Otherwise--great shirt at a great price.
Great shirt, but 4 buttons fell off By RecontraBacan from Salem, Oregon on 07/19/2008 Pros: Breathable, Drys quick, Durable, Lightweight, Lots of pockets, Nice long tails, Velcro pocket closures, Washes Easily Cons: Buttons fell off, Diff colors diff model Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great shirt and just what I was looking for for backpacking/camping/casual in summer. I ordered 2 xxl's (stone and green). They were two similar but obviously different shirts. The stone shirt had side slit mesh vents that were permanently open. The green one had side mesh slit vents closeable with a zipper. Four buttons fell off the green shirt on the first wear, and they just "popped off" on their own. I hope I can find replacement buttons that match, because I love these shirts. Tug on your buttons before wash/wear, to make sure they are actually sewn on. The green shirt also had a mesh yoke under the shoulders which was nice. The stone shirt did not. They were nice and roomy, and best thing is that they have reasonably long tails, so the company did not skimp on material (you won't have to continually keep tucking these in if you're like me and are long in the body). I would definitely buy these again, although I prefer the green model with the zipper vents and the mesh yoke. I typically buy xxl's, but I'm sure the xl would have worked just fine, as the shirts are designed to be roomy. The temperature dropped to 50 with wind at night, I layered with a cotton t-shirt, and was plenty warm without fleecing up. The shirt was also not too hot at 80 in the sun on the beach. A lot of bang for the buck. But spend 5 minutes or so confirming the buttons are actually sewn on securely, the stone buttons were, the green buttons were definitely not. Had I not considered both of these to be my new favorite shirts, the button issue would have compelled me to return the green shirt. I like them too much to do that, though. Even though they are "nylon" they have the look and feel of a good cotton sail/parachute cloth, but have the nylon benefit of quick dry, spot clean, and some wind resistance. They also have velcro front pocket closures which I found to be a nice and convenient feature. I would have given 5 stars but for the button issue. On any other shirt, the button issue would have been rewarded with 2 stars and a return. Two thumbs way up.
Excellent backpacking shirt By Bioteacher from Pittsburgh, PA on 07/14/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Washes Easily Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Have other similar shirts by Sportiff and they are my favorite outdoor shirts. I even find them suitable to wear in teaching Biology. The kids seem to think it fits the subject matter.
good, but some features missing By pb from norcal on 07/13/2008 Pros: Adequate pockets, Lightweight, Washes Easily Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Missing some features that were on a previous Kilimanjaro I got from STP. The most important is that the side vents are always open; on the previous shirt the side slits had zippers. This might be an issue when it's windy. Also, the stay system for holding rolled up sleeves is less beefy on this version.

By Hosteen from CA on 07/07/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Camping, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: other than the sleeve length being on the long side, this is a great shirt for the type of hiking I do - hot, dry desert environment. It blocks the sun and dries quickly.
"Ultimate travel shirt"... No kidding! By chriso from anchorage, alaska on 07/06/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Washes Easily, wrinkle free Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I spend a lot of time on the river guiding our Glacier Jet Alaska jetboating trips and Expedition Alaska rafting trips. These shirts are bomber, resist the wind, are comfortable, dry virtually instantly (I seem to get wet plenty!) look great, and all I ever have to do to care for them is toss them in the washer, then the dryer, and they make me look semi-presentable! When we travel or are on multiday trips, I just roll them up, shake them out when I need one, and in a few minutes after putting them on, the wrinkles are a thing of the past!
This is my second round for these shirts, I loved the first 3 so well, I had to get a few more colors!
By wingnut from Titusville, FL on 07/01/2008 Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The add said "mesh shoulders." As I own several Sportif shirts with mesh shoulders I was pretty sure what I was buying. This style in fact has rather narrow under-arm mesh running parallel to the seam. Had I known that I probably wouldn't have bought the shirt. Also, one of the three shirts was missing the velcro tabs over the left chest pocket.
