It has kept me warm and dry. The sizes are a bit generous though, for extra layering.
By G from NY, NY on 11/23/2008 Cons: Doesn't seam very warm, No lining Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is a good looking jacket but there is no lining. I live in the Northeast and commute daily into NYC and do a lot of walking and would not wear this jacket on one of the colder days. Because of this the jacket was not practical for me, I can't afford to spend [$] on a jacket that I can't wear ever day. I returned it.

I remembered that coat never let me down in any weather. This John Partridge coat excceeds all of my expectations. Flawless quality with incredible comfort and looks. This is a high-end product with a bargain basement price, worth at least twice what I paid at Sierra. My Racing Red duffle with Tartan plaid is gorgeous! Deep rich colours, looks the stuff. Can't wait to wear my coat over the holidays. Keep up the great job Sierra, I'm hooked for life!

Just love it! Warm to wear, great to see By Mazza from Cherrybrook NSW Australia on 06/25/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Classic, Eclectic Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The red outside is matched with the great tartan inside - the Australian wool from which it is made guarantees comfort and long wear. There is a phone pocket and secure pocket for carrying wallet or passport leaving the long pockets on the outside to keep the hands warm.
Will be wearing the coat and using the hood to keep out the wind and chill this winter.
By Duffle Coat Shopper from Wyoming on 04/11/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Classic Look, Durable, Warm Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Classic Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I looked at this coat in long and short (the short is a jacket) as well as the Gloverall (another very nice option). This is a classic duffle coat without lining and looks like it will last for decades. In the two days I've had this, I've worn it in 20 F snowy weather with just a turtle neck and with a denim shirt. It was more than warm enough. I especially like the length and that I can button it up with my gloves on. A nice surprise were two interior pockets: a small velcro closure pocket to fit an MP3 player or phone and a zippered pocket.
It's not as warm as my technical jackets and parkas, but that's not what I got it for. It's not a luxurious overcoat by any means, but that's not what I got it for either. It's a great every day, slightly dressy long coat that I will wear down to 0F (with appropriately warm clothing).
In summary, a classic duffle coat at a great price. I'm very pleased.
