I like that there's a bit of stretch in the fabric, making it shapely instead of hanging stiffly. I love the this style from the CoVelo line and would definitely recommend it to stylish friends.
By Renee from Southeastern WI on 12/01/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Versatile, Very Unique Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office, Travel, Work Meetings Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, High-end shopper, Practical, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: You won't see yourself in the crowd in this jacket. It's very warm and I liked the length of the sleeves. My only complaint is that the hook & eye fasteners slide open as I'm wearing it, and I plan to replace all of them with large metal snaps. I got compliments the first time I wore the jacket.I love it!
Looks much nicer than it feels! By The Doodler from Franklin Lakes, NJ on 11/23/2008 Cons: Irregular Size, Poor Material Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office Describe Yourself: Classic, High-end shopper, Practical, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The picture looked so cute. I thought it would be a nice change from my everyday jackets and blazers. However it was way too short, almost borderline cropped. I hated the fabric. It's so itchy and scratchy and unlined. I didn't even like touching it. There's no way I could wear it all day.
pretty and versatile piece By shira from cambridge, ma on 11/22/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office, Travel, Work Meetings Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, High-end shopper, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very pretty jacket, made of thin but quality material and nicely finished inside. For me it ran true to size and it gives me a nice princess fit (which I like). What I didn't like is the hook closure. Those are easy to break and fall off.
By Gig from Maine on 11/17/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Stylish Describe Yourself: Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This has hooks for closure which is a bit unattractive. I ordered a large and the sleeves are too long. I am a medium.
By Classy Chassis from Minneapolis, MN on 11/10/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Stylish, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office Describe Yourself: High-end shopper, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Beware. This jacket is well-made and beautiful but runs small. Luckily I did not have to return it for a larger size, but the fit was right on the edge. Previous reviewers indicated that the jacket is thin for boiled wool. It is on the thin side but I think this makes the jacket more versatile. Jacket can be dressed up or remain casual. Well worth the money.

By westcoaster from Moss Beach, CA on 11/01/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Outdoorsy, Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Collar was too tight. Sleeves were too long.
It would look OK buttoned up, but the collar was itchy. Opened, the unlined, unattractive interior showed, as well at the hook closures. I'm returning the jacket.
Lovely, but not what I was expecting By Mainiac from Portland, ME on 09/13/2008 Chest Size: Feels too small Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've always lived in the Northern US... "boiled wool" to me is a heavy warm thing. This is surprisingly lightweight wool. I thought I was buying a winter-weight coat, but I have sweaters that are warmer.
But the coat is absolutely gorgeous. For Spring or Fall wear around here. Incredibly well made. The wool is stretchy, which I also wasn't expecting, and the coat is sewn to accommodate the stretching without breaking seams. The coat is unlined, but finished well on the inside (raw seams, but the backside of the embroidery is clean and pretty, even).
I have the blue. The fabric has a bit of a purple tinge, which I didn't expect from the way it looks on my monitor. (Steel blue is a good name for the color... but it didn't look that way on my monitor.) Some of the solid circles are iridescent (light blue vs. tan at different angles), which is great.
CoVelo runs small, to my mind. I usually wear a large, but get an XL in this brand. The jacket seems to fit well, though it occurs to me that since it is unlined, it may require some adjusting to get on over some clothing.
