Great coat for blustery times By Steverino from Richmond, Virginia on 09/10/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Handsome, comfortable and beautifully made. My size 44 fits well (I wear a 44 sportcoat), but has enough room to accommodate a sweater or sport coat. It's worth the usual retail price of about [$]

I Wanted to Love This Coat But... By Eekhead from NYC on 09/03/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Cons: Not Enough Pockets, Poor Fit Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I kept this coat for 3 days before I returned it. The sleeves are set very close to the body at the shoulder. When I raised my arms, the coat pulled across the top of my chest. I'm a skinny 36 and it was just not comfortable, very restrictive. The double panels/stitching detail at the shoulder fell awkwardly on me.Great idea and materials, but it just didn't fit me![...]
By Jimbo from Chicago, IL on 08/28/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Warm Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like this coat. I usually wear a 36 and ordered a 36, which looks great if I'm wearing the coat by itself or layered on top of a sweater--I don't look at all like a marshmallow. The loden color is a very nice dark green (a bit darker perhaps than the photograph) and while unlined, has a wonderful plaid pattern on the inside wool.
The pockets are on the small side, but still substantial enough to fit your hands in (without heavy gloves), etc. An inside pocket would definitely be nice. All in all, this is probably the nicest coat I've ever owned, and I get the impression it will last for a very, very long time. As always, the STP price just can't be beat.
It is beautiful and very warm! By Hipster Doofus from Danbury, CT on 08/22/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Warm Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a magnificent coat! Everything about it is extremely well done. The sizing is accurate - I'm a 42, I got a 42, and it fits perfectly. It comes just to the top of the knee and fits well by itself, but still has enough room for a heavy sweater, vest or sport coat underneath.
The materials are very high quality and the stitching, cutting and tailoring are as good as it gets. I have another duffle coat from Tibbets of England and this is a better product. The plaid liner looks great, the leather frogs are substantial, and the horn toggles – whether real or plastic – look and feel great.
The only possible drawbacks for some buyers might be that despite the high quality and upscale label, it's still a casual coat that may not be suitable for coat and tie meetings. It's also light on pockets for cell phones, note pads, etc., but it's perfect for as a casual top coat and for outdoors in the northeast U.S. I'm expecting to have it for a long time.
By Tall guy from Atlanta on 02/23/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a nice duffle coat - mine had a nice plaid lining that contrasted the Green exterior. Unfortunately for me, this just proved to be a roomier coat than what i was looking for so i returned it. I normally wear a 43/44L and ordered the 42, but it was too roomy. Also, the toggle buttons are the only closure on the coat, and it left me wanting for a more secure and tighter closure.
