Good jacket, but does not fit well. By Lisa from Minnesota on 10/15/2009 Cons: Bulky in Shoulder area, Torso large, Torso way too short Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I've tried a couple of the shorter Carharrt jackets for my sons. Both have been large in the torso area and WAY too short in the body. The longer length coats do not seem to have this problem. As far as the durability and warmth in the longer coat....Can't be beat.

Perfect for chores where staying clean is not an option. Tough and meant to get dirty.

Good but irregular jacket. By Jochamac from Hobbs, NM on 10/14/2009 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Sierra Trading Post sold me an 'irregular' carhartt jacket without advertising it. To me, this is false advertising and a shady way to do business. Luckily, the jacket wasn't in bad shape. However, I won't be doing business with them again.
Best Carhartt jacket I bought so far ! By Rod from Rhome, Texas on 10/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
By DAVE from MARYLAND on 10/12/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a solid work jacket, but it is not as substantial as it appears in picture. The potential buyer should be aware that this jacket runs small The size-rating above is predicated on what I believe would have happened had I ordered my regular size. I am a regular large but took the advice of a previous reviewer and ordered up to an XL, and it fits fine. (Thanks to him for that piece of advice.) Overall, for the price, it is a good buy.

By Thrifty from Boston, MA on 10/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Husband loves this jacket. Good for working outside on cold days. Plus he likes that it has fitted, elastic fabric cuffs to keep the warmth in, but that they are hidden by the straight cuffs of the jacket. He's a large normally and the large is perfect, leaving room to wear a bulky sweatshirt inside.
By MWSLLC from Albuquerque, NM on 09/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this for my son and now his dad wants one too. It is lightweight yet warm and very rugged, like Carhartt is known for. It is a second (had a flaw right on the front) but it didn't matter since this is a canvas-type jacket anyway. Know that it is narrow in the waist and goes straight down - if you're buying it for someone with a little paunch, it will be snug. No elastic at the bottom and the rear is longer to cover the backside - which is terrific because my son rides his bike to school.

Love the hood for those cold windy Juneau days.
