Go Sierra Designs!
Only Fit Tried - Actual Use TBD By Aimee from MGM, AL (but ski in Big Sky, MT) on 05/11/2008 Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have only tried it on, seems warm, fits true and comfortable. There is enough room underneath for a couple of efficent layers. Seems like it would be easy to move for the type 1 or 2 skier. Only downfall is lack of many pockets, but still has a few.
Even better than it looks By Lisa from Boulder, CO on 04/17/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Stuffs into its pocket. Darker colors make it good for camping as well as around town style.
not the most flattering fit By momoftwo from Sandpoint, ID on 04/14/2008 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this jacket as well as the Go-Lite Cayenne jacket, for around-town, cold-weather wear. This is not a stylish piece like the Go-Lite. It is puffier, with an unflattering, sloping cut through the shoulders. Would be great for cold-weather camping/backpacking, etc, where style is not an issue at all. This is definitely a more serious, technical piece.
By ski bum from Seattle, Washington on 04/02/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't used the jacket yet - but I intend to use it for skiing in February & March. It feels very light & nice.
too short in torso and arms By n from denver, co on 03/19/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a longer torso, am about 5'8 so it was pretty short on me. But it might be great for a shorter person.
By Nora from Washington DC on 03/03/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm normally a true medium, women's 8-10. Even though reviews said the jacket ran small, I ordered it in my usual medium. It doesn't feel too small on me and the sleeve length is OK (I would like them a little longer, but they're not noticeably short on me). It fits well. It might be too snug if I were wearing a bulky sweater underneath, but I'm planning to use it layered under a parka shell, so the snuggish fit is a plus for me. It arrived on a cold winter day and after I put it on, I went straight out to do some yard work. It was plenty warm all by itself and so light I barely noticed I was wearing it. Excellent quality for the price.
By valgalrunning from Chapel Hill, NC on 02/27/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, pretty color (blue), Warm Cons: Inadequate Protection Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The collar could be higher also the sleeves seem a bit short and on me, the sleeves are often too long. Seems like it should be bulkier but haven't tried it out in temps lower than ~35 F so can't say whether it would still keep you warm at temps below freezing.Zipper kind of flimsy. [...]Feels cozy when you put it on. The medium blue is very pretty.
great jacket, great price By rivermama from grants pass, oregon on 01/13/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Comments: Nicely made down jacket. Sleeve length a bit short for me, and wrists feel a bit exposed when moving around. The wrist bands are elastic and not adjustable. Haven't put it through anything extreme, but seems pretty cozy. I'm really enjoying it.
