I would buy this jacket again and again By On-line shopper from San Jose, CA on 07/16/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend The jacket fabric is excellent with enough pockets and pit zippers; soft fleece lining.
It is cut amply through the body. I don't think we needed the extra space in the body but needed length in arms.
Liked it so much this is the second jacket I've bought. I like this color better than the first one.

By HRT from Boise on 06/20/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend The coat is great, but I usually wear a large. The large was supersized in the torso and the medium fits very well.
Great coat.
By Stoby from SLC, UT on 06/19/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I usually wear medium, although the M was huge on me so I exchanged for a small. Looks great, very warm and comfortable. Hangs over hips and waist so never have to worry about dirt/rain getting in the pants.

problem solved thanks to Sharp Point By High Point Hiker from High Point, NC on 06/15/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof, Well-designed and roomy Cons: Needs elasticVelcro cuff Best Uses: All-season day hikes, Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I recently bought a Marmot Sharp Point after studying the offerings out there. I had returned a North Face Marvel because of the tight arm pits (and not having pit zips). This Sharp Point seems to have it all. I look forward to using it. It fits better than other brands. I opted for a Medium. I'm 5'7", 177 lbs, 40" chest, 32" arms. The Large was just too big and arms too long. One suggestion would be for the company to offer a Velcro-and-elastic cuff combo. This model has a Velcro cuff only. So, each time I put on or take off the jacket, I'll have to deal with the Velcro fasteners. Everything else is great, though. Good insulation but not bulky, lightweight, zip pockets. Super quality and design. Good color choices (I went with the gray). Could use a foldable hood. It is small enough to fit in my small Gregory Z-22 day pack.
problem solved thanks to Sharp Point By High Point Hiker from High Point NC on 06/11/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm, Waterproof Cons: No hood or elastic cuff Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wide range of uses Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I am very pleased with the design and construction of the Sharp Point. I did a lot of shopping. Because of difficult-to-size items out there, I ordered both a M and a L from Sierra Trading Post. I wore both around the house for a day and opted for the M (I'm a male, 40" chest, 32" arms, 5'7", 177 lbs.) The Medium is a bit snug in the chest but okay compared to the Large. I like the Pit Zips, which will provide more ventilation (I returned a North Face Marvel to another vendor, which didn't have pits and was too tight in armpit.) The stretchable, smooth exterior looks like it will not collect briars and burrs, important to me, as I'm a volunteer maintainer of the Appal Trail in SW Virginia and need things to work right. Function, weight, cleanability, durability and versatility mean everything. The biggest design flaw is in not have a combination Velcro/elastic cuff. Mine is a Velcro strap only, meaning that every time I put it on and take off I have to mess with the strap and adjust. Marmot really needs to re-evaluate that one. An emergency, fold-up hood, hidden away, would be nice, too. Other than that, the thing is perfect. I love the pit zips as a cooling agent. The zip-up pockets are nice, as is the zippable inner pocket. The poly fleece isn't too bulky, a big problem with other jackets of mine. I'll be taking this coat on a wide range of trips and journeys.
