It is cut amply through the body. I don't think we needed the extra space in the body but needed length in arms.
Liked it so much this is the second jacket I've bought. I like this color better than the first one.

By HRT from Boise on 06/20/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The coat is great, but I usually wear a large. The large was supersized in the torso and the medium fits very well.
Great coat.

problem solved thanks to Sharp Point By High Point Hiker from High Point, NC on 06/15/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof, Well-designed and roomy Cons: Needs elasticVelcro cuff Best Uses: All-season day hikes, Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I recently bought a Marmot Sharp Point after studying the offerings out there. I had returned a North Face Marvel because of the tight arm pits (and not having pit zips). This Sharp Point seems to have it all. I look forward to using it. It fits better than other brands. I opted for a Medium. I'm 5'7", 177 lbs, 40" chest, 32" arms. The Large was just too big and arms too long. One suggestion would be for the company to offer a Velcro-and-elastic cuff combo. This model has a Velcro cuff only. So, each time I put on or take off the jacket, I'll have to deal with the Velcro fasteners. Everything else is great, though. Good insulation but not bulky, lightweight, zip pockets. Super quality and design. Good color choices (I went with the gray). Could use a foldable hood. It is small enough to fit in my small Gregory Z-22 day pack.
