Soft strechy, wind & water resistant By ski & sail from montana mountians on 04/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Hiking, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Advanced Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought for my daughter, she loves the trim and very comfortable fit. She is 5.6 130 lbs & tried the medium but the large was a better fit. They seem to be water proof, (she uses them for snowboarding) but as they are a soft shell they may eventually soak through. The removable suspenders allow them to be used as a heavy duty trail pant as well.
Awesome softshells! Love the stretch. By mospeed from Yorba Linda, CA on 03/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Cross Country, Downhill, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Advanced Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants are great for skiing, so comfortable, just the right temp for any weather. Love 'em.
By Sarah from Columbia Falls, MT on 02/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Best Uses: Cross Country, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these pants because the website said they had a 32" inseam and I am tall (5'9") they fit perfectly - better than most women's pants. I wore them cross country skiing and they worked great. They are a little stretchy so they work well for moving. I think they also have a flattering fit. I am athletically built and the Large fit well.
wide cut legs, not for all winter sports By Suz from Anchorage, AK on 01/18/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Downhill, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased a size up based on other reviews. The waist and seat fit fine, if not a little baggy. But the leg openings were way too big. I was planning to use for cross country skiing but the trouser cut fit doesn't work well for that sport so I am returning. These would work well for alpine skiing b/c they would fit nicely over those type of ski boots.
By Hope from NY on 01/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cross Country, Hiking, Snowshoeing Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They will get a good workout this weekend because it is supposed to be in the low teens and single numbers for temperature with chance of snow. Camping, snowshoeing, hiking this three-day weekend. They are so soft and comfortable. Going to wear a pair of long johns underneath just in case! They do seems just a little long, so hope I do not trip!!
By Minnesota Mom from Grand Marais, MN on 12/26/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill, Freestyle, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Comfortable, warm, breathable, waterproof. I ordered a large based on someone else's review about the medium being short-waisted. I'm happy with the large although they are a little larger than I expected. But I like that I can bend over and they don't creep up over my boots. I like that the suspenders are removable too.
By teleski from Colorado on 11/19/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stretchable, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill, Snowboarding/Skiing, Telemark ski Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are very soft and comfortable. They move with your body. My only complaint is they are cut a bit short in the crotch area.
As for sizing, I usually fit either an 8 or 10 pant depending on manufacturer. The medium in these fit well, but as mentioned above they are cut a bit short in the crotch area. From the medium to the large is a big size difference. The large legs are much wider and longer than the medium. I did go with the larger size to provide extra room and avoid the wedgie look.
I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys winter outdoor activities.
