Perfect from Slopes to Apres-Ski By kdenverite from Denver, CO on 01/25/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this coat specifically for skiing. With a few base layers, it's perfect for that purpose and definitely warm enough (in 10+ degrees.) After skiing, though, it's also stylish and sleek enough that I wear my coat everywhere. I love the big collar, simple pockets, and color (absynthe.)
My only complaint is that, at 5'8", I find that the sleeves are about 1/2" too short for me.
By Teri from Dallas, Tx on 01/22/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered a large and it fit great around the hips but somewhat large in the shoulders and chest. I normally wear a medium. The jacket is very wind resistant but not that warm. Even though it is lined with some sort of microfleece thin layer you still need something warm under it. I love the purple color and it is very light. I use it to do my morning walk.
By Debi the car was attendant from La Verkin, UT on 01/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I own a car wash. This jacket keeps me warm while I am cleaning out bays and vacuums yet keeps me looking cute & stylish.
By out in all weather from VA on 12/31/2008 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Bulky, Poor Ventilation Best Uses: Biking running in rain Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: There are zippers to no where in the collar bone area. I am assuming for ventilation? I think a zippered mesh gusset under the armpit would have been a better location.
The neck is a bit bulky could be a tighter more streamlined fit and the whole jacket a bit stiff think very lightweight neoprene but that is to be expected with true waterproofing. Lovely taped seam treatment inside. Works fantastic no rain or wind gets in if the weird zippers are shut. You need layers underneath to keep warm. Plenty long to cover your butt while riding a bike.
Great, Great, Great Jacket By Good Shopper from Ambler, PA on 12/17/2008 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love this jacket! Will use in all weather except snowy conditions. Purple color is so nice!
By Navajo Nat from Watkinsville, GA on 11/29/2008 Pros: Flattering fit, Layers well, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Poor Ventilation, Pt zips placed awkwardly Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Jacket fits well and true to size. "Pit zips" are really more chest vents and the zippers are stiff and difficult to reach, making them challenging to open and close with one hand--may loosen up with use. Otherwise, should work well for it's stated purpose.
Nice Jacket but too narrow at the hips By SC Grandma from Leesville, SC on 11/25/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear a 12 and this jacket was fine in through the sholders and sleeves but too tight over the top of my hips. I couldn't have worn a larger size and have it fit through the sholders. I returned it.
By Keli - wife of gear-freak climber from Atlanta on 11/24/2008 Pros: Durable, Warm, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Hiking Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a high quality jacket. It is for fairly cold weather, though, as it can be quite warm when exercising. Vents are in different places than most jackets (kind of near where breast pockets would be) and I have not decided if this is good or not
By Paula from Flagstaff, AZ on 11/24/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: the only thing about this jacket is the zippers are very small and it's difficult to unzip the pit zips while in the middle of an activity..for example: running.
the angle of the unzip is odd..but that is a drawback that i don't see as a big problem for me.
the jacket has kept me warm in cold temps, and fits wonderfully. i haven't been in the rain or snow wearing it yet, but the windproofness has already proven to be a winner. I've been running in this jacket and imagine it's going to be great for xcountry skiing this winter..even when its snowing! i love the form fit design..and it's length is perfect..which seems to be hard to find.
