By brrr from Columbus, OH on 03/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket to go over a matching soft shell. With the two layered, I can go anywhere in any weather. I love the brown/parchment colors. The women's sizes have a nice fit.
By Lowrider from Reno NV on 03/16/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this for my wife. She loves it. Great style and fit for a woman. She uses it with layers on cold ski days and removes a few layers if it is warmer. She is on the slopes 3 to 4 times a week with this jacket during the season. It replaces a 10 year old Marmont that has held up well. Expect this one will last as long.
By Safetygirl from Spokane, WA on 03/11/2009 Pros: Great length, Lightweight, Nice looking, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: No room for under layer Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My fourth Marmot jacket. This is the first large that is slightly small in the chest/torso so that it works great on its own, but I could not get a layer underneath. Still comfortable, lightweight jacket.
By THeresabob from the cold midwest on 03/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This was a nice fitting jacket, looks great, could easily wear layers with this jacket, but it had way too much velcro for me. There was velcro all down the front zipper, velcro sleeves, velcro over the front pockets, velcro on the hood...
I am NOT a fan of velcro and this coat had more velcro than any other coat I've seen!!
By Me from Cool, Ca on 03/04/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels too small Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket because all I wanted was a shell I could layer under, and it had to be waterproof and have a removable hood. I normally wear a woman's medium in outdoor wear to make room for the layers but this jacket was a bit too tight to be comfortable. I ended up with a large and it's just right, which for me means that it will be loose if I just have on only a thermal shirt.
I wore it out in the icy down pour yesterday and was dry and comfortable the whole time, and it takes a full hour or so to complete my stable cleaning.
By Shutterbug from Falls Church, VA on 02/24/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great lightweight ski jacket with lots of pockets and features like powder skirt and arm vents. The colors are perfect with my ski pants and skis and I loved the price!
By skier from Salt Lake City on 02/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It was a delight to receive a jacket that fit. I'm short and most often others have the sleeves too long and the jacket itself too long. I've only worn it once but the day was variable with sun, wind, snow and it was very comfortable.
By Ski for fun from Nashville, TN on 02/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It was roomy in the shoulders but too slim in the waist and hips for me, but I'm 5" and that could have been the problem
Nice jacket with some drawbacks By Victoria D from Nashville, TN on 02/18/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is good quality. It has lots of pockets and would be great on the mountain. It is definitely a shell and requires quite a bit of layering on a cold day. It was a bit baggier looking than I expected. The other jacket I ordered (OR Intuition) was much more flattering and seemed more durable/warm. I did not like the dual bluejay color of the Rubicon. I returned it and kept the OR jacket.
