Great light wind jacket, NOT for rain. By Hiker Chick from Cambridge, MA on 09/06/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Comments: I have reviewed this jacket before as a great lightweight wind jacket for hiking. Today I made a quick run outside in average/light rain just to give it a try. The shoulders soaked through in less than 5 minutes. Definitely don't take this along on a hike thinking it will be rain protection! Still a great jacket, but NOT waterproof!
By Hiker chick from Cambridge, MA on 08/14/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the coat. Very soft, light fabric, folds into itself. Chestier women might want to order a size up, otherwise true to size. This jacket belongs in every summer hiker's pack, in case that clear sky turns to drops of rain. If you don't need it, you'll never know it's there, and that's how it should be! Also light enough to wear for bug and sun protection in a pinch.
By Beccaloo from Georgia on 07/14/2008 Pros: A very functional garment, Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Warm Best Uses: Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a must have garment for cool weather hiking. It is well worth the few ounces it weighs. It is about half the weight of the Golite Bark jacket it replaces.
Great as a wind jacket. Rain? By Mary from Boulder CO on 07/13/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Hood, Light weight, Self-packs, Warm Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Used for biking first time yesterday at 6am.(70 mile ride) Kept warm. Removed into small pack when warmed up. Re-used later in day when wind came up. Did not overheat. Love light weight, functionality. Did not give it 5* as I have not had chance to test it in rain. I am thinking of getting a second one to put in my hiking back pack.

Definitely waterproof, but not ideal By Zobot8 from Lawrence, KS on 07/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Good Weight, Packs down tiny, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Extreme Conditions, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just got this product in the mail, and expect to use it in Oregon. It's 100% waterproof--water rolls off. It is VERY light, packs tiny, it's only con is that the sleeves are a bit short and so is the hem. If you will be wearing warmer gear underneath, order a size up.
I wore it in humid, post-thunderstorm weather last night, and it felt a bit moist on the inside, but no big deal.
I would buy this product again. The weight is fantastic for lite packing.
