By Outdoors in Michigan from Upper Penninsula, Michigan on 04/23/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather, windy days- any activity Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: In the old jackets, I wore a 12 because the chest was too small. But, in the new Alchemy jackets, I wear a medium. The new sizes that are by letter and not number fit true to size in the chest, arms, and length of the jacket. This jacket is wind and water proof. Add a few layers underneath it and you've got a perfect ski jacket! Typically, I wear a women's S or M shirt (5'6") with a 34" B bust and a medium fits me perfectly with enough room for thin wool layers if I want to use it for skiing.
By KNKTRAVELS from DURANGO, COLORADO on 04/17/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, GET 1 SIZE LARGER, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, GREAT ALL AROUND JACKET, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: GET ONE SIZE LARGER THAN YOU ARE. I PURCHASED THE SAME JACKET IN MY SIZE, YOU CANNOT GET A LARGE SWEATER ON UNDER THAT ONE. THIS ONE IS GREAT A LOT MORE ROOM FOR LAYERS WITH ONE SIZE LARGER.
By Las Truchas from Jackson Hole on 03/15/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Skate Skiing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is very functional for blocking the wind, but is also breathable. The fit is very trim, so you need to decide if that works for you. I find the look a bit high tech with the dark grey contrasting colors. However, it does what it's advertised to do.
A great body-concious fit in a jacket By J from Diamond Bar, CA on 12/28/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Fits close to the body, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is form fitting. Finally a jacket made for a woman. It has room in the chest, close at the waist & a slight flare below. The neck will zip up below the chin to keep the wind out. In very cold, windy weather you may need another layer over this. This jacket fits close enough that you will not be wearing a bulky layer under it.
By EMMA from ASHEVILLE, NC on 11/27/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Improper fit for size Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: the sleeves bothered me so much, i returned the jacket.
The sleeves are tooooo short By Irina from Eagle River, AK on 10/27/2007 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice jacket, but it is too small and the sleeves are way too short. I am 5'9" and normally wear a size 6. I read some reviews, and everybody recomended to buy one size bigger. I bought size 8, it fits fine, but a little tight under the arms. Probably, size 10 would be better.
