Material matches the price. By scubadude from philadelphia,pa on 03/23/2009 Cons: Too thin and didn't seem Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this because of the compact "size". I wanted something waterproof and packable. I bought the next size up based on other reviews and that size was perfect. Overall this is an inexpensive jacket but the material is very thin. I returned this item because I wanted something a little more weather resistant.

I am not to empressed with jacket By none from Columbia,SC on 03/14/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket has a lot of lose threads in the construction. The hood is not consealible when not needed. I have been satisfied with all purchases except this jacket.

Awesome but not waterproof By Living outside from Northern Sierras on 03/04/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Windproof Cons: Doesn't Breathe, Flimsy, Not Waterproof Best Uses: Light rain, Light snow Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: My feeling on this jacket are really mixed. I've owned it for a year and a half and used it for a variety of purposes.
First off, it is NOT waterproof. It leaks moisture when wet and doesn't shed water very well. Bummer number two is that it is starting to delaminate on the back of the neck.
That being said I have used the jacket extensively and love how light it is. It's always in my pack and has been with me to the top of Mt. Shasta, many ski trips, backpacking, and two months in central america. The best use I found for it was backcountry skiing or other snow sports with decent weather where you need more then a windbraker and less then a heavy jacket.
Conclusion: I think that it was worth what I paid for it, considering how much I got out of it but I think next time I'd spend a little more and get something that will actually keep me dry.
By Traveler from Denver, Co. on 03/04/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof Cons: Location of inner pockets, Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After reading previous reviews I decided to order this coat 1 size larger than I would normally purchase which was the perfect decision as the coat certainly is sized incorrectly. It fits perfectly one size larger than I normally wear. I bought it because it's ability to be packed in a very tight space for traveling overseas.
By tom from N California on 03/03/2009 Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i just got it a months go and haven't used it yet. i got it because of its light weight and am happy with that. we'll see how it performs. i'm trusting the name.
By none from Missouri (where we know rain) on 02/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: this is a basic good quality rain jacket. no pit zips or hood stowing capabiliy but since I never stow my hood it makes no difference. the pit zips I miss. - I normally wear large but bought xtra large and the jacket fits slightly big for layering. I would order a size up because you get a little extra length but it doesn't swallow you. I wouldn't pay full price there are better jackets out there but I think [$] is a great deal for what you get.
By Patrick from Taiwan on 02/08/2009 Cons: Doesn't Breathe, Not Waterproof Best Uses: Wind jacket only Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I used it two times in heavy rain, and I got wet two times and got very cold. At first, I supposed it may be caused by my sweat, but I found the water seems to be able to penetrate its fabric finally. The seam tapes look very cheap material, and the work is very very poor quality, not all seams were taped, and you can feel the hem portion fill up with water. Only light weight meets what I expected, but it is useless for me to buy this jacket and its pants neither. I didn't return it because of international shipping cost is too high. I will not buy any product of Sierra Design, too disappointed to their product and quality, its performance is worse than 10 dollar rain coat I bought locally.
not worth it's weight in gold By hnlhi2 from Hilo, Hawaii on 01/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: for the price you would think the jacket would be more substantial... in a heavy down pour over here it would not stand a chance
