Good performance for the price By Outdoor Family from Duluth, MN on 02/04/2009 Pros: Good Cut, Lightweight, Low price, Versatile Best Uses: Layering, Nordic Skiing, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Unusual fabric feels like neoprene, but is not bulky. Light fleece liner adds warmth. Blocks wind and moisture. I use it mostly as a mid weight layer in colder weather.

Great Deal on a Soft Shell By winter tech from Cincinnati, OH on 01/22/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Breathable material, Durable, Fabric moves with you, Good Cut, Great winter ACTIVE wear, Lightweight, Sleek minimalist styling, Versatile, Weather-proof shell Cons: Not warm by itself, Not warm for leisure wear Best Uses: Wear a loose fit as outer, Wear trim as mid-layer Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great deal on a soft shell. The jacket has sleek, minimalist styling, with long-ish sleeves and long-ish torso (preferred by 6'1" tall me). The soft shell fabric is quiter than more traditional, supplex/windbreaker-type nylon.
I bought a large, in black (to help keep warm in a pinch), to wear as a trim midlayer. I also bought an extra large, in soldier blue, to wear as a casual/outer shell, that I could wear over a mid-layer. I wish the [black] hook-and-loop cuffs were also colored soldier blue to match the soldier blue jacket.
The fabric has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish on the outer surface, with microfleece lining on the inside. I believe this jacket version also has a weatherproof membrane, between the two layers (i.e. same as the Red Ledge Gauntlet hooded jacket).
Incredible deal vs. any stuff by the more well-known mountain/active wear brands: no goofy/funky cuts or patterns, no silly logos here, just clean, sleek lines, and durable, solid function.

Had to return because fit is poor. Great value otherwise.
