Good price, great product. By Squeegee Joe from Northern VA on 03/30/2009 Cons: Not Helmet Compatible Best Uses: Bad Weather, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had been looking for a soft shell for a long time, and when I saw this, I knew this was my chance. The fit is trim, but not tight. A mid-weight fleece pullover would fit under it, but not much more. A vest might be a better option. The hood isn't big enough to fit a climbing helmet, which is a bummer, but it's still better than no hood at all. If not for that, it would receive 5 stars.
I took it out last weekend in a foggy, misty drizzle and stayed completely dry while all my gear got really nasty damp.
By CCC Guy from Arlington, MN on 03/27/2009 Pros: Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good spring jacket, great fit and versatile for lots of different activities especially, with the hood. Great with wind and water but not very warm without layers. I also wish it had a 1-2 more pockets.
By Going to China from Los Angeles on 03/23/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Warm Cons: Not Enough Pockets, Smelly Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a basic softshell jacket. Perfect for travel. It rolls up very tiny. The pockets are large but there could be a secret pocket on the inside... maybe. Also, the jacket has a smell similar to neoprene for the first week. Then it goes away. Great jacket, its exactly what you need for light traveling and/or Southern California weather
By an old guy from Northern Virginia on 03/20/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Found the chest size too small for an XL (normally wear a L). The sleeve length was too long for me but probably about right for the XL size. Returned the product as a L was even less likely to fit. Other than a cheap plastic zipper the jacket seem to be well made.
By RomanRode1 from Atlanta on 03/17/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Cons: Need to adapt to stretchy Best Uses: Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Super on cold rainy days, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Trim fitting - can be tight on big men (like me!)
Excellent in cold, rainy conditions. 3 solid days of rain tested it from Day #1. Outstanding. NO moisture penetration. Light weight, but durable. THIS is one outstanding jacket!
GREAT JACKET FOR THE PRICE! By OUTDOORSPORTFANATIC from PENNSYLVANIA on 03/02/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I BOUGHT THIS JACKET MAINLY FOR BACKPACKING IN SPRING AND FALL, BUT DECIDED THAT I REALLY LIKED THE STYLE , AND WEAR IT DAILY NOW. THE ONLY DOWNFALL I CAN FIND IS THAT ITS A LITTLE LIGHT FOR THE COLDER DAYS (30 AND UNDER),BUT THAT CAN BE REMEDIED BY LAYERING WITH A ZIP UP FLEECE UNDERNEATH.
By Salty Dog from TX on 02/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Warm Cons: Could be a bit warmer Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seems to be well made. YKK zippers, neoprene fitted cuffs to keep the water out, no velcro. This will be great for fly fishing. The cuffs keep water from running down your casting arm, and there aren't any tabs to catch your fly line.
very nice jacket with great hood By wutrain from The great state of OHIO on 02/09/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket rocks! it has a great slim cut to it, fits nice, Love the hood. It also looks very stylish. I bought it because of the price and after getting it, I know I got a great deal. It will keep the rain out, but not sure about the cold, having worn it in Ohio with temps in the 0-10 degree range, it was better to layer it with something else. Love the hood, hard to find a soft shell with a hood. All in all I would recommend it!!
By Jimmymac from Spokane WA on 02/02/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't really worn this jacket yet - the weather needs to warm up. However, this is the jacket "weight" that I was looking for. It is more of a tailored look. I always order a "L" but was warned by other folks that this may be too small. It's not - but there isn't room to wear bulky clothes underneath. It's not your "run-of-the-mill" jacket and that's what I like about it.
By J from VA on 01/24/2009 Pros: Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great softshell jacket, it fit swell on me with a fabric that feels great to the touch. For the price, it is definitely a great deal. However, when moving around I did notice that the jacket felt a little stiff, but it doesn't bother me that much.
