you won't weather the storm By gollwoods from black swamp on 11/17/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: this jacket is not trail worthy for wet conditions it will soak up all the water and stay wet and heavy then freeze
By stu from LA on 08/12/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Cons: Not enough pockets, runs small Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual, Classic Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: BE WARNED: This jacket runs small. order a size larger than normal. the larger size will not be bulky and pretty much standard to other companies.that being said, this has to be one of the best Soft Shells on the market. Great because it has a hood too, which should be mandatory for all soft shells. The other drawback is the lack of internal pockets. the two outer ones will work, but a zip chest pocket would be great for snowboarding to put your phone or iPod. The outer material is top quality. This thing will repeal water and cut wind. some of the seams even have outer taping like a wetsuit. the inner lining is soft and comfortable. I even plan to wear it during California snow storms (wet snow). incredible buy for [$]especially when you compare it to something similar from North Face, Patagonia, etc which would run in the $200 range.
By Riceye from Wisconsin on 08/09/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Cut, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is such a good value. Have not had much of a chance to wear it, but it is a substantial soft shell for a fraction of the cost of others. And the hood is a nice feature!
By Chris from NM on 03/03/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I gave this a high rating because it's cut well (nice trim fit- not too much extra material); the material itself seems durable (though the stitching is suspect); it's pliable (though not the deep 4 way stretch you get from, say, Polartec Power Stretch material); the fleece lining is comfortable (especially in the hood) and over layers it's warm; the hood is low cut; it's cuffed at the wrists; can be cinched at the waist; it's pretty much windproof; and with a DWR treatment I applied myself (you can put it through the dryer), it's waterproof as well. It breathes OK, but no core vents seems like the only real drawback. I'd recommend it: I've talked myself out of buying a lot more expensive technical soft shells because I have this, so I'd say it's a good value.
By DogBoy from St. George, Utah on 02/20/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Conservative Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this jacket in Large thinking that it would fit. I was wrong! When I got it, I could not even get it on. Runs small. Nicely made and good idea for casual wear if it will fit you.

A few pockets would make it super! By dB from Chicago, Illinois on 12/19/2007 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Cons: A couple of Napoleons, And a sleeve pocket, Needs more pocket action Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great fit, well made, material feels a bit like a wet-suit, but it's breathable. It's a warm, weatherproof piece of equipment for the money. If it had a few more pockets... I would have given it the 5 star, fantastical treatment. The black one that I have looks pretty sharp. I use it as a liner for the Red Ledge Voyager Jacket which makes it bombproof.
Great quality, great price By Michael from Astoria, OR on 12/15/2007 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Hiker Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great soft-shell at a great price. The jacket has a bit of a trimmer fit than other soft-shells I have tried, but this is a positive given my slim frame. Hood fits very well, and is not too bulky when not in use. Jacket's inner fleece lining is comfortable. Internal cuffs are a nice touch to keep out the weather. Two pockets are big enough to hold essentials, fleece-lined to warm hands, and have zippers to secure items. Great buy.
Great product without the bucks! By 18 Bravo from USA on 11/01/2007 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Multi -envirornment use, Travel Describe Yourself: Career, Casual, High-end shopper Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great jacket without the price. Very similar to the Schoeller technology that the US military has adopted. I recommend one size up. Pro Rainer is a European susidiary of Red Ledge based out of Hamburg Germany and so are their designs . European clothing tends to be cut much smaller and slender in the torso and shoulders.
Check the fit. Highly recommended!!
By mike the bike from chicago-land on 09/14/2007 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Water resistant Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Rain, Travel Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seems to be a very good jacket. It says ProRainer on the hem, so I am assuming it is very water resistant. (The hang tag says "waterproof, breathable, so maybe there is a waterproof membrane.) It has a fleece lining and should be very similar to Schoeller WB-400, but at a fraction of the cost. Nice atheletic (snug) fit. I will be wearing this in the rain on my morning bicycle rides. Very nice internal cuff on sleeves.
