Worth Buying with a 25% Coupon By Fleece Fiend from Delmarva, MD on 11/03/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, soft, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cool or windy days Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a thrifty spender that has gotten hooked on Patagonia clothing-- the discounts STP can offer me makes this one of the only outlets I purchase this brand from. This fleece is stiffer than other items I have purchased--but it is still soft and wearable. I bought the sable color and love how rich and deep chocolaty brown. Not metallic or pearly as shown in the STP photos. Will be keeping this item, I'm thinking it will be perfect for mornings or evenings out at the barn this fall and as a staple piece during the day for our cold Maryland winters.
By annabelle from madison, wi on 10/26/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i have been eyeing this fleece for awhile, and when i saw it at this price i had to get it. i've worn it every day since. the red is a good color - not flaming bright, but definitely bold. i am 5'3'' 115 lbs and the fit is pretty perfect - the chest is a bit puffy, but my chest is tiny so, this won't be the case for everyone. the r4 is remarkably warm considering how light it is. i've worn it in temps around 30 and been comfortable (and i just moved from florida to wisconsin). it's also held up pretty well in the rain for me, although you would probably get pretty wet in a downpour. i plan on using for running during the wisconsin winter as well.

Great jacket at even greater price! By likesgreatclothes from Indiana on 07/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I already knew the jacket sleeves would be a little long. Also, the construction over the shoulder blade areas is such that it allows excellent range of motion of arms...and I'm assuming that is why the sleeves are a little long, so that when you raise your arms your sleeves don't ride up the forearm. So rather than rating the product with too long sleeves, it may actually be a good thing. So glad I got this jacket...I had seen it in person prior to purchase and knew what to expect in quality. I did some research on performance/satisfaction and that was all I needed to make this purchase. It looks great, feels even better. I will use this for casual wear in the colder winter weather..I got the brown color and it is rich and beautiful.

I am returning it after trying it on since I know it will bother me. color is nice and jacket is warm.
By yoga girl from Davis, CA on 04/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for biking in the wind. I am usually an XS in this brand and the jacket fits well. Not stiff like other windproof fleece I tried. Will definitely try under shell for wet winter weather next year. Perfect for chilly morning dog walks and riding too.
By Jewel from Livermore, CA on 04/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased one jacket like this and loved it so much that when I saw it at a terrific price at SierraTradingPost, I bought two more in different colors. I wear them all of the time. I get compliments from people because the colors are so vibrant. The only possible con might be the length of the sleeves, which are too long to wear out flat, but I roll them and create a stylish cuff (the linings are well finished and great colors too) and I'm off and running - the cuffs actually add to the look.
By Alaskan Chick from Interior Alaska on 03/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The material is amazing, but the sleeves are a bit big. They are designed that way. I kept it, and I wear it often, but the fit isn't quite perfect. I have long arms and the sleeves are still too long. Also, the extra material in the sleeves makes it bunch underneath a shell.
By aquagirl from Kansas City on 03/10/2009 Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features, Too heavy for inside Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I loved the color, but I was looking for a piece of clothing to wear in the house when it was chilly. Because of the windproofing, I thought it was too stiff and heavy. Also, the design of the styling just didn't fit me correctly.
