Tight and uncomfortable. Might be okay for a child

By Mountain Princess from Northeast on 01/26/2009 Pros: Good Fit, Good Protection, Warm Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Never was a fan of balaclavas because of what they do to one's hair...but darnit, sometimes it's cold! This one is perfect for me. Not too heavy, not too light, and great fit with Giro Bad Lieutenant Helmet.

Works nice under a helmet though. may even use it for those cold days on the Harley.

By jerseyp from erie, pa on 01/16/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Easily, Good Fit, Good Protection, Warm Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great balaclava. Took it winter camping and it kept me so warm I had to take it off at times. Have been hiking with my dog and using this in near and below zero temps and it keeps me warm although some wind passes through it (that is what a hood on your jacket takes care of). I have owned some good gear and this is definitely expedition weight - if it was any thicker or heavier you would sweat while doing any athletic
activities, even in extremely cold temps. The mouthpiece does get water (any balaclava gets wet if covering mouth) but if you use carmex or chapstick it reduces it greatly. It is very breathable even when covering face.
