Comments:
I purchased these pants for around [$] and they were great for what I paid for them. I wore them for 2 days while hiking/post-holing through several feet of snow in Colorado and did not have any problem with the waterproofing (I also had gaiters on). I did have a tear in the seat by the end, probably from glissading. These certainly are not on the same level as Gore-Tex but if you're looking for something cheap to play in the snow periodically these worked great for me. Only drawback is that they only have one pocket, but not a big deal if you have a jacket with many pockets

Used these pants for both beginner skiing and just playing in the snow. Worked great! Wish they had more features (ie zippers on the legs for easy on/off w/ ski boots and more pockets - there is only one pocket on the back right but it has a zipper so stuff doesn't fall out).
