It would be good for spring or summer evenings in colder climates. I loved the retro look of the coat. The back is cuter than the front and is tapered in. It does have a slit up the back till the wide waist-band, but it hangs closed unless walking. My problem was that the arm hole openings were too small. I studied the shoulders and they seemed about right. I have broad shoulders of if the shoulders are a bit tight that is normal on me but usually the arm holes are fine. These felt a size small at least. Also, being only 5'3" the coat was a bit long. If that were the only problem I would have kept it and decided later about hemming but the sleeve-holes made me return it.

The Indigo color gives the vintage-inspired styling a contemporary kick. The size 6 fits my 5'3" frame perfectly. Based on the photograph, I was concerned that the silhouette would be boxy; however, the coat is perfectly fitted across the back and shoulders, and slightly flares to a knee length. I love Charles Nolan's clothes and feel fortunate to have found this coat at such a good price.

The fabric, in indigo,is gorgeous; the coat is very well made. The sleeves "bell" a bit at the cuffs, a bit wider than I would have expected. There is a really pretty set-in belt in the back,sort of above the waistline, of the same fabric, just a nice defining detail for the back. I live in the middle of nowhere and you definitely don't see anything like this around here. When I go "to the city" to shop or visit, this coat starts conversations, people want to talk about it, touch it and generally admire it! It's really cool. My teenage and college age daughters love this stylish coat and want me to wear it with dress jeans, slacks and boots. This has been fun, a little outside the box for me. You definitely have to "own" this thing when you wear it! :)

The fit is perfect for someone who is thin and long-limbed. It is also well-made. Great for going out on special occasions.

It seems a little strange in the photos,
but go for it! It's lightweight,really well made from beautiful fabric. The long vent in the back is pretty - the whole thing is pretty and feminine but will be great with jeans. It's fitted through the shoulders so will be best when you don't need a ton of layers. I bought the black but the blue would be great for spring.It's the most distinctive coat I've seen.

Since Charles Nolan is a fantastic NY designer, I decided to order it in black & check it out further. WOW - it is a GREAT coat at a great price! The popcorn-textured fabric is lightweight and an interesting addition to a very stylish, well-made coat.
