The positive reviews steered my decision but I was dissapointed upon recieving a mens 30 waist to find the waist measured 31.5 even after a washing.(this material does not shrink)
the point of backpacking pants is not to have to wear a belt that will interfere with a pack, so these wont work. Im sending them back

I normally wear a 36 and the 38's are almost too tight, but I would be swimming in a 40. The lenght is not a problem as they will have to be shortened in any case.
The style and finish are OK for casual travel and could be dressed up with a button down or good polo shirt.

They are out door type of pants with a bit of a chino look. They run a bit large in the waist and length. About an inch bigger in the waist and inseam than stated. Soft durable material. I re-ordered a smaller inseam and love them.

It fits a good inch long in the inseam and the waist. I had to send back my first pair for size issue and then ordered two pairs.
Good pants but not the best fit. I liked the pocket configuration and the ability to zip up a portion of one of the cargo pockets. The material of construction was also very nice and felt good to the hand.

I used them for hiking and fishing and they worked out real well for me and they look very good too.
