I normally wear a 36 and the 38's are almost too tight, but I would be swimming in a 40. The lenght is not a problem as they will have to be shortened in any case.
The style and finish are OK for casual travel and could be dressed up with a button down or good polo shirt.

It fits a good inch long in the inseam and the waist. I had to send back my first pair for size issue and then ordered two pairs.

I used them for hiking and fishing and they worked out real well for me and they look very good too.

I liked the pocket configuration and the ability to zip up a portion of one of the cargo pockets. The material of construction was also very nice and felt good to the hand.
