By Fatman from Marquette, MI on 11/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had a Bugaboo parka years ago whenI first came to the UP of Michigan and it proved to be the most durable jacket I ever owned, except it wasn't waterproof. Now with new fabrics and improved zippers, this jacket should replace the old one with the added advantage of being waterproof. Living next to Lake Superior, we get a lot of heavy wet snow in early winter and spring. I like the extra layer of fleece inside; you don't have to have bulky layer next to your skin. Needless to say, the price was fantastic; I saved 70% off retail. Thanks Sierra!

Not a "parka," but good quality nonethel By brettsota from Minnesota on 10/30/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good Columbia Sportswear quality, but I was underwhelmed by the cold weather performance of this "parka." It's for mild winters or for heavy activity where you're also building up a lot of body heat ... not a parka by any stretch of the imagination; not a coat for windchills or below 0 temperatures. For the real Minnesota winters I experience I ended up going with a different Columbia coat, I think it was called the rodeo magic "parka." (BTW, what a goofy name for *that* one.)
Also Columbia coats run a little large in men's sizes, I normally XL tops because I have slightly longer arms and the XL gave me very ample sleeve length.
Extremely Versatile and well engineered! Great value for the price. By Rockin Bob from Minot, ND on 10/29/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, SpringFall Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The sleeves of the liner protrude from the ends of the shell when donning the jacket. It would better if there were two straps to hold the liner in.
By spotters from richmond VA on 10/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband purchased this jacket for a weekend trip to the mountains - worked great. I'm planning on "borrowing" it alot! Very comfortable and warm. His only complaint is that the sleeve does not always stay in the coat as it should (it has the removable liner)
All in all, a good jacket for the price. By Jared from Nashville, TN on 10/28/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just purchased this jacket a few weeks ago and used it on a 26 mile hile in Great Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park. We got rained on, and the shell held out the water, although since its not very breathable, I sweat a lot inside it. The shell on its own is quite warm though, and cuts the wind well. Im a small guy, so I ordered a Men's size small, and it fits well thru the length and the sleeves. The body of the jacket is a bit bulky though. All in all, its a great jacket for the price.
