By The Yellow Bandit from Poughkeepsie, NY on 01/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My only "complaint" is this coat is HOT. If I walk into a building with the coat on, I have to remove it within 30 seconds or I start to feel faint. If I had matching snowpants I'm sure I could sleep comfortably in a snowbank.
By Forlorn in Il from Volo, IL on 01/18/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Warm Cons: Inadequate Protection, Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: There seems to have been some leeway taken when this garment was described. I think of a "parka" as an insulated one piece hooded coat. This is a a shell with a detachable liner. The hood doesn't have any insulation and unbuttons from the coat.
I wish I'd gotten a larger size. I bought a medium.
If I could do it over again, I wouldn't.
By jim the runner from ky, usa on 01/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great Jacket!! It feels very warm even when winchills are around 0 degrees F. I really like the 3 in 1 zip out capabilities the liner is perfect for when its cool but not too cold and then the outer layer adds water and wind protection. I am very happy with this purchase and as always Sierra was very prompt with processing.

By kaz the teach from southern maryland on 01/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this coat for my son and he loves it. He wears it all the time and it keeps him warm. He just discovered it is several jackets all in one. He can remove liners to make the coat lighter weight for a little warmer weather.

It was by far one of the best jackets I have ever worn while outside in the snow.

By Bernd from Austin, TX on 12/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This coat has one design flaw. It is really warm, but I am a little over 6 foot tall and the warm part of the parka does not cover my back sufficiently even in size XL. The coat is long enough, but the fleece is too short. So when I wear the coat with the fleece my back is warm and covered, but not my kidneys. That is ok when you wear thermo pants, but not for jeans. This coat is probably perfect for men 5.8 or smaller, but for people 6.0 or taller it is not a good fit as a winter coat. However, I will probably keep the coat and wear it in the fall without the fleece.
