The shaft is not too narrow, and the tip is soft enough as not to smoosh the toes completely. Had to keep them, against my expectations. Great price.

I am pretty petite, but have muscular calfs so be warned if you don't have skinny calfs.

I slipped my foot inside and was surprised they were actually wearable. The prob was that the calf is WAY to narrow and I couldn't even zip all the way. A real bummer and they have been returned.

I've worn them for a day of travel and airports, to a gallery for an evening of standing, and normal social activities. My feet are a little broad across the bunion area, these boots accomadate that. Great with a long graceful skirt or blue jeans. Not good if you need to walk long distances fast, as the design is similar to a well made high heel.
