Comes with a flat brim which is pretty stiff and resistant to shaping.

The crown is considered "low crown" which means it does not have a much height or material as the traditional "Cattleman" version. Bailey is offering similar low crown models for $150. It fits a bit different and looks a bit different than the Cattleman also. The brim is what I would call "stock flat." It has little or no break in it. Good news is that you can shape the brim any way you choose without having to "undo" a previous shape. The bound edge is first class. The felt is light, like all Stetson's tend to be. This means it is cooler to wear and easier to shape. And you just cannot beat the price!

The hat is beaver felt so that means it is not a summer hat. This is a good fall, winter and spring item.
