(I measured the waist.) Other brand shorts included with my order, also size 34, fit great and measured 34.
Perhaps my short was the only short mistagged at the manufacturer, however, I tend to doubt that. If you are a true size 34, "buyer beware!"

(Wish I did!). The quality is amazing-should cost more. Should have bought more. It is so hard to find such a small size for a man 5' 11", they almost dont exist. They are nice and thin-good for our hot weather here in Hawaii. Very nice long length like he likes. Washed so well I did not have to iron them, even though they are light weight denim. Another bargain of the century!
