Excellent quality at a bargain price By Rich G from Skippack PA on 09/23/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Dress Casual, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I took a chance ordering this jacket after reading some of the other reviews on this and other Steinbock products. However, after receiving the jacket, my misconceptions were laid to rest. The jacket fit and looked perfect.
One thing you need to know. They are sized generously so you need to order a size lower. I wear a 40 and the 38 was a perfect fit, with a very nice drape and no bulkiness up front or extra padding in the shoulders. The styling looks exceptionally classy which makes this jacket great for business casual work settings, or going out to a nice restaurant, church etc.. It gives off that elusive pride of ownership feeling you get when you encounter a product of exceptional quality like a German high end car. Warmth wise, I would not wear it alone on a typical Northeast winter day, but you might get by using it with a warm sweater and merino wool underwear top underneath. The thickness is about medium. The only downside is that I found the interior to be itchy when trying on the coat over my t-shirt. However, when trying it on with a typical winter shirt etc.. I did not experience any itchiness. Overall, I recommend this jacket highly and consider it one of my best purchases ever on Sierra Trading post.
Well Made, But Cut Very Large By Tidewater Bob from Williamsburg, VA on 08/24/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable Best Uses: Bad Weather, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: (This review can apply to most of the Steinbock line of mens' clothing.) There is no doubt that this is a very well made jacket. The material is first rate and the stitchery is of high quality. But, and this is a very big but, the sizes run LARGE. Their 40 (Euro 50) really wears more like a 42 or even a 44. If they had a 38 I'd give it a try. If you want a garment that looks like it has football shoulder pads in it, then this is for you. Otherwise . . . you get the picture.
By Bill from Walla Walla, WA on 11/16/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Provided I knew ahead of time that the jacket would fit large and be bulky, I would still recommend it to someone based on the quality and the appearance.
By anonimus from new york on 04/19/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Describe Yourself: Casual, Classic, Trendy Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Unfortunately I could not have chance to use this beautiful jacket. Place an Order chart contained European sizes and size 46 is US 36. Such disappointment. I returning it back.
