It looks like it was designed to wear over many layers. The meduim still had very loose fitting sleeves but was ok, the sleeves were somewhat short in both sizes. This jacket will be just right if you have a big beer belly, with lots of room in the middle. I use the jacket after bicycling and only have a jersy on instead of a thick sweater.

I purchased it because my fishing friend wore his everyday while we were fly fishing in Bozeman, Montana. The temps were in the 60 degrees each day and he loved his "shirt". I would wear mine golfing and for any other time that a "wind" shirt was appropriate.
