By kit from glen carbon il on 11/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The biggest con was the cape was rolled into a "ball" and was VERY, VERY wrinkled when removed from pkg. So much so that I had to send it to the cleaners to have it professional pressed. There were no "how to care for this product" attached to the cape. The quality assurance team sould not send (out) rolled up garments.

Surprisingly warm with a casual or classic style. Add boots to your outfit for a great look or casual over jeans for a evening walk on the beach.

Everything promised and more By Ellen from Canton, OH on 08/27/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a beautifully made cape - real bargain. I haven't worn it yet in really cold weather, so I don't know if it will be warm enough throughout Ohio winters but Alpaca tends to be insulating. It sheds a bit.
Soft warmth without weight By Appellate lawyer from Houston TX on 06/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Deep rich color, Good Cut, Great for Houston winter, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is perfect for the damp and chilly Houston winter, when a ruana or wrap will generally suffice for warmth. I am looking forward to using it as an alternative to a black ruana. A silk scarf or turtleneck will be necessary, however, as the fabric is slightly scratchy. A minor inconvenience, in my view, because of the gorgeous, warm color and warmth-without-weight fabric.
By Li from Seattle on 04/16/2009 Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: TOO WIDE! Feels like 3 yards worth of material wide, and wide open on the sides... Beautiful wool, odd design.
Stylish, fun, great for rain and cold By Labrador Lover from Oregon on 03/28/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've purchased this cape in black and brown and am planning to purchase the light tan. From researching the Web, I learned that alpaca is warmer than wool, but what I didn't anticipate is that it's great in the rain too. The semi-porous fibers wick the moisture to the surface. When I get where I'm going, I simply shake the cape and hang it to dry (it doesn't take long!).
I'm 5'9" and it hangs well. It looks stylish and feels both comforting and comfortable. I'm enjoying wearing a "coat" that doesn't look like every parka and trenchcoat and jacket that everyone else is wearing.
As for the shedding that a couple reviewers have commented on: yes, it does shed a little, but so do some of my other things, like my mohair and angora scarves. A wool shirt I wore the other day left some fine sheddings on the white blouse I wore underneath. Then there are the two cats and the black lab I live with. So while I wouldn't wear the black or brown cape directly over a white garment, I can't see any alpaca fibers on my colored garments.
Bottom line, I love this cape: it's stylish, warm, water-resistant, and economical (hand washable!). Cape number three, here I come!
