This hat has a band around the bottom that closely fits your head. Great for cold weather, but not so great if it's too small. I'd recommend buying a size up.

And it'll make women look funny, with its weird shape. It's like they tried to make a beret, but ran out of material, so it just sort of puffs out on top. Definitely not for use under a helmet!
It seems to be pretty warm, but after looking at myself in the mirror (I'll wear women's gear if it fits and works), trying on my helmet, and having my wife try it on, I'm exchanging it.

It fits my three year old, great! I would order 1 size up from what is being sold..... or order the small for your toddler.
