Brim size is perfect for a daily wear hat. It's not too big and bulky but still provides protection.
NOTE: like all Tilley hats, order a size larger than your usual hat size. That is why I indicated it feels a half size too small.

So far, it is very warm, holds on in the wind, and fits my style. The earflaps on a brimmed hat like this are a genius touch. Only drawback is the crown collapses easily, and sometimes looks a bit awkward when worn. But I didn't get it for looks, and you can't beat the functionality.

The flexibility to use the forehead and ear flaps or not is great. This hat is exactly what I have been looking for. It fits...is size adjustable for a good fit, is water resistant, warm stylish...my favorite hat ever.

We re-ordered 7 5/8" for my husband and I kept the smaller hat for myself! We like Tilley hats, but these must have been mis-sized.
