Followup; Incredibly warm for a vest
By TedVerified Reviewer from Central Virginia on 02/09/2009
Pros:

Cons:
Bulky, Poofy collar
Best Uses:
Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Casual Dresser
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Followup to my earlier comment: I raised my rating since all of the pros overwhelm the cons. The poofy neck is still a pain in the neck; though I will admit appreciating the poofy neck while fishing in high wind conditions at 8800' elevation. Other than that one fishing trip the poofy neck is too much. The vest is even warmer than I thought. I am unable to wear the vest during most physical activities (e.g. hiking, woodcutting). But it is easy to take off till one cools down. The vest is heavy for a down vest, but it is tough durable fabric and one doesn't worry about snagging the cloth while brush busting. I included traveling in the best uses because the vest makes a nice plush pillow.

Nice vest
By DYVerified Reviewer from Melbourne, Aust on 07/09/2008
Pros:
2 way zip, Versatile, Warm
Best Uses:
Daily Use, Going Out
Describe Yourself:
Bargain Shopper, Casual
Sizing:
Feels too large
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Very warm vest with very cosy neck, but compromised by a excessively generous fit around the trunk which allows cold air to enter/warm air to escape. Just wear a sweater underneath and it's fine. I am a skinny person but it's still quite big for its labelled size. Sturdy 2 way zipper and 4 large and warm outside pockets are practical. The zippers on the 2 inside pockets are a bit flimsy and are not that easy to use when fully open or closed, but not worth mentioning. Microfibre lining inside extends to the collar and wraps around the neck- very warm and comfy. It is lined with 55/45 feather/down. I have seen a couple of feathers coming through the outer fabric but it's minimal. Outer material is nylon and water-resistant treated, it feels like soft thick cotton and appears to be durable. A well-made vest, I like it so far!

Great vest for use when temps are in the 40's and 50's. Keeps arms free for strenuous activities, while keeping the wearer warm.

Comments:
Having recently moved to a colder part of Australia, I purchased this vest and hoping it would be as stated in the ad. However, when it arrived I was dumbfounded by the quality, style, and warmth it offered. I couldn't find anything down her for less than $200 that even comes close to it. I can wear it while working as it doesn't limit freedom of motion. A GREAT buy!

Comments:
I ordered a Medium based on the Chest measurement and when it arrived, I could have fit two of me in it! Its really big! I bought it for the long length but I don't think I could have ordered one small enough to actually fit. Its a really great fabric though.

Incredibly warm for a vest
By TedVerified Reviewer from Virginia on 04/18/2008
Pros:
Good Cut, Versatile, Warm
Cons:
Poofy collar
Best Uses:
Daily Use
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Vest fits well, conforms to shape and doesn't allow drafts. It is a little heavy for a vest (weightwise). To me, it has a huge poofy collar that juts up into my face. I prefer vests that are layer components and do not interfere with covering layers. This vest's collar competes with any top layers (coat, scarf). Even my raincoat is affected. Construction and materials are first rate. The vest allows excellent freedom of movement for the arms, which is what I wanted. I purchased the vest for use while fly fishing.
