I've got plenty of higher tech gear for hiking or climbing. I use this for chores, chopping wood, construction projects, etc. It's the usual Carhartt tough, no-nonsense stuff.

Really nice vest, but runs small By DLW from N Ft Myers, Fl on 12/09/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this vest in brown for my husband to wear in NY during the winter. This is a good quality vest with fleece lining, but it runs small, so I returned it, and am waiting for a medium. My husband really liked it, and usually would wear a small, but it was tight in the chest. The small would be more suited for a small chested person, otherwise this vest looked really nice!
By Inspector from Middleville, MI on 12/03/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a tough work vest with a few pockets for small tools, pens and business cards that allowed me to move around and still look professional and I found it. It did come with a very small hole in the front but I kept it anyway. I figured I was going to make my own blemmishes on the job.
