Vests work very nicely in that they fit over outerwear during the cold season, yet provide a nice, lightweight product during our hot summers. Pockets are convenient for carrying small field items.

Vest for VAD Patient with Heart Pump By Heart Pump Patient of VAD from Midlothian, Virginia 23113 on 08/04/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The on Sale price was great. The side pockets were enough but they need to be larger and sideways instead of straight up. I would like to talk to someone about making these Vest for VADpatients. Vad opeates out of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore , Maryland. They have a shoulder holster type vest but this one is more comfortable. I have ordered several and this one is best (If the Pockets were sideways instead of upways. Also need a flap to cover pocket. I put velcro on these posckets which works good. Pockets need to be longer by at least two 1/2 inches. Plenty of pockets and it is light weight. I plan to buy more at the ON SALE price of [$] and I would recommend that Heart Patients of VAD to order them also. Thanks for a good VEST. Norman Harding

I'm pleased with my purchase By BirdGirl from Alabama Gulf Coast on 05/21/2008 Pros: Durable, Lightweight Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Birding, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a birder and use this vest for toting along field guides and the like. The pockets don't have velcro which, as a birder, I like...no noise. I also like that it doesn't have a zipper closure, just a single snap. The vest stays closed, but still offers some ventilation. I do wish there was one interior zip pocket for keys, money and ID. Maybe also a big back pocket for a small water bottle or one of my larger field guides to help counter balance the stuff I have in the front pockets. I can't really speak to the bug repellant aspect. Can't say I've noticed a huge difference...maybe I'll put it to the test when we travel to northern MN this summer. Other than that, it's a nice, lighweight, reasonably priced vest.
