Always brings compliments By swedchef32 from Bozeman, MT on 03/22/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I agree with others who describe the jacket as wider in the waist than expected. This is easily fixed, however. I took the extra buttons provided with the jacket to a local seamstress, who added them slightly inset from the others. This took maybe 10 minutes, and now gives me the option of buttoning the jacket in the pre-made 'boxier' style, or in a more fitted look. Other than that, I always receive compliments whenever I wear the jacket - it is very versatile.
By Nanina from Midwest on 03/14/2009 Cons: Poor Fit, Wears Out Quickly Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This item looked great online. When it arrived, I put it on and the fit was not great. The fabric felt durable, but really stiff. I am a seamstress and I planned on removing the beads and applique once it arrived because that part looked cheap. Removal went well and left absolutely no marks or discoloration. I usually wash new clothing before I wear it. I washed it in cold water and I did not dry it. Unfortunately, the basic stitching (collar and sleeve) came apart, leaving frayed fabric, which will be very difficult to mend. I am angry that I didn't even get to wear it once before it started to fall apart.
By online addict from Hudson Valley, NY on 02/15/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight Best Uses: Daily Use, Fun casual Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a cute idea. Great color. Love the beaded butterfly. A little too casual for the office, which surprised me because I thought it was going to be a little dressy. The material came creased and wrinkled, and it is hard to steam out. Fits a little tight in the small and I am a size 4-6.
By DK from Illinois on 01/07/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Versatile, Well Made Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Another reviewer complained about the sizing; I would say this jacket is sized correctly according to designer sizes, rather than very generously like JJill and similar brands. I also agree with the reviewer who said it is boxy around the waist--I, too, will probably take it in. It is a very nice and well-made jacket, though, and looks just like the picture. It will look nice with professional skirts and dress up a pair of jeans.
By G.B. Fred from Florida on 12/19/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Charming, Comfortable, Well Made Cons: Does not close well, Had to alter, Waist too big Best Uses: Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is overall very fun and super cute. However, I found that, not unlike other clothes by Pura Vida, the waist area is too large around and too short in the trunk. I ended up adding a small snap to get a better fit and may try to take it in around the waist. Once it fits right it is a real versatile treasure.
Nice Jacket small in size By Winter in Upstate from Ithaca, NY on 11/24/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It is a very nice beautiful jacket, but even size 12 is small for me who usually takes a 10. And 12 is the biggest size they have
