Transition-weight, but runs very small
By SammyVerified Reviewer from Chester, CT on 06/05/2009
Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Inadequate Protection, Not Enough Pockets or Features
Best Uses:
Casual Wear
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Chest Size:
Feels too small
Fit:
Feels too small
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
This is Mt. Hardwear Transition Zip-T weight, but not convinced it is as efficient a garment as the Transition. This vest runs absurdly small, and only has a small vertical chest pocket. Wouldn't highly recommend it.

Comments:
The product is described as a Gore NTS fabric (think Windstopper w/out any fleece, Mountain Hardwear Transition type fabric) but Gore's labeling does not appear on the product. Hopefully the product will function as described despite the erroneous description.

Comments:
Thin fabric. Not what I had expected. Requires layering up for warmth, so might as well have purchased a fleece lined vest from another company. Perfect for wind that kicks up on a spring day.

Enough style to wear in the office and enough performance to wear running, hiking, or backcountry skiing. Its uninsulated, windproof and waterproof. Perfect right above your base layer, not quite "Next to Skin" but close. Excellent way of keeping weather out during aerobic activities, like crosscountry skiing, climbing up backcountry ski trails, etc.

Would have liked a soft brushed lining but I understand where Marmot was going with this vest. Very lightweight. Built for performance.
