Have used them with tools for a firm grip and worked great. Haven't been able to use for outdoor work - we only have snow and below freezing temps. I did go up a size as suggested by others and fit perfectly.
Favorite gloves, small fit. I sent back the mediums I ordered and reordered large. Even the large is a bit snug, but they do stretch with use. I bought several more pairs and sent them out as holiday gifts to my fellow gardening enthusiasts. I've since order a couple more pairs for myself, size men's small.

I suggest ordering a size larger than usual.

I bought the XL which should have fit my hand per the measurements but the gloves are uncomfortably tight. I will be returning them.

I am an avid gardener and always looking for the Holy Grail of gloves, and I think I found it in this product. They fit so snug, they feel like a second skin, but are not restrictive. They are beautifully made, the leather soft and pliable, lightweight, and I would expect them to last for a long time. I ended up returning one pair and going up a size as the fit is snug and I believe they do run small. Ordering the right size is the key to satisfaction.
