I can't believe I dislike it so much! By Singing In Black from Boston, ma on 05/18/2009 Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I read the raving reviews about this dress and thought: it looks like a choir dress. But I NEED a choir dress! I sing with a professional symphony and as I am pregnant, wanted something that was one piece, didn't wrinkle much, was lightweight, and looked a little snazzy.
The dress is cut awkwardly to say the least! The neckline is strangely high and is uncomfortable against my neck. The stomach area, as duly noted in all of the reviews, is rather - huge. I mean, when I put it on, it actually looks like they put an extra panel of fabric for someone who carries weight only in their midsection, but is appropriately sized everywhere else. As I am an hourglass figure, this does not work for me. I was hoping I could just have it taken in a bit, but it is constructed so oddly in the stomach it's just not worth it.
The slit comes up to above the knee in the front, which the interesting ruffle does sort of hide.
I found this dress to be unwearable due to its innate design flaws, at least for my body.
I considered it for when I am larger in my pregnancy, and it is still cut poorly. Again: not a maternity dress, but almost like an extra panel which *hangs* in the belly if are of anything remotely like a 34/30/34 proportion.
Very disappointed in this dress, but thankful for STP's awesome return policy as always, and good price to begin with.

It's a wonderful update on "the little black dress."
By Betsy from Portland, Or on 02/24/2009 Cons: Cheap Fabric, Poor Fit Best Uses: Night Out, Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This dress just did not fit right. The top was too big. It is great that it came out of the box with not a wrinkle, so for traveling it would work out great. It is a cut that is very formal, good for a formal night on a cruise ship. It did not work for me and I am sending it back
Gorgeous, Elegant, and Comfortable By Watch Jane Run from Bi-Coastal (Boston and San Diego) on 02/06/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, Nice Color, Nice Fabric, Versatile, Wrinkle Resistant Best Uses: Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I LOVE this dress. As others have said, not much to look at on the hanger, but it looks like a million bucks on. The only thing I have to alter are the sleeves, which are about an inch too long. I'm 5/4" and the length is perfect, front and back. I love the way the fishtail dips down in the back. The hemline is versatile and would work for taller or a somewhat shorter women. Very elegant. Extremely comfortable, and subtley sexy with the narrow opening in the front and back bodice. All you need are some sparkly earrings. This dress should work at even the most formal events. I accidentally ordered two, and am almost tempted to keep both, but I won't. So there will be one more size 10 available. Great value at the price.

On the handger it looked dull and untailored. But when I put it on, wow! It looks fabulous.
By Frenchaholic from Nyack, NY on 12/03/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, High Quality, Wrinkle Resistant Best Uses: Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wow - what a flattering dress. As I took it out of the box it didn't look like much but when I put this dress on I felt like a million bucks. Really unique, gives good coverage (perfect for cold weather formals) and the fishtail portion was very cool. Might have to hem this one as it was a little long (I'm petite) and I definitely have to get the sleeves shortened.
Fabulous dress for a great price! By RJ-FLA from Tampa, FL on 11/14/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Fabric, Wrinkle Resistant Best Uses: Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As to "true to size" - remember that sizes vary as the price tag goes up (a smaller size is bigger in reality). I bought a 10 (perfect fit) whereas I often get a 12 with other manufacturers.
As others mentioned, the waist is a bit loose, but that would be a plus for some some women. I still could have worn it "as is", but I took it to my seamstress and with a couple of small tucks ... WOW, who knew I could look that good!!
Definitely defies wrinkles -- it was slung over the seat in my car for a few days in the hot sun and there was not a single wrinkle when I put it on.
A great addition to any wardrobe, especially if you travel and need to include a dress for a special occasion.

It arrived in plenty of time, and I loved it. It's comfortable for sitting and easy to dance in. The only con is that the top is a little too large, especially in the sleeve length.
