By sparrow from grand rapids, mi on 08/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This coat had everything I was looking for - detachable hood, down, a bit longer than a ski coat. The color is very nice - not too "orangey". Added bonus are the sleeves with the thumb-hole in it(not included in the description) I am petite (5'1") and didn't find the sleeves or coat to be too long.
vest to jacket in a flash. By danad from Pasadena, CA on 02/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flexible, Modular, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Changing weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the perfect jacket to go from warm weather, to rain, to snow. The hood and arms all zip off which makes this jacket easy to wear in changing weather conditions. Love the double zipper too. I wore it hiking in the snow one day and in the city the next. So it is stylish enough to go from outdoors to casual city.
The only flaw with this jacket is the front zipper, there is a flap part of the lining that often rolls up into the zipper when you are zipping it up. I just fold it back while zipping and it works.
Beautiful color & style but not the fit By Susie Shopper from Birmingham, AL on 01/29/2009 Pros: stylish, Warm, Windproof Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchase this coat to give as gift for my best friend in NY for her bday. Love the color and style, but it was too tight through the chest, shoulders and under the arms. My friend and I wear the same size 4/6 and I ordered an 8, I had to send it back, but if there was a 10 I would have ordered it. I wished it would have worked!
By Kansas Woman from Kansas on 01/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'd say this jacket runs a little small, as others have written, since my small-chested self fits snugly into the size 8. But people keep complimenting me on the jacket, even though I've taken off the fake fur hood decoration and so it's not even as glamorous as it could be!
By Abbey on the Slopes from Boston, MA on 01/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Convertable, Lightweight, Warm Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The jacket is very warm, functional, and has a flattering fit!! However if you are busty, I suggest ordering one size up. I love that the sleeves, hood, fur trim and snow skirt all zip out. When converted, this piece serves as a wonderful vest!
By KH from Tucson, AZ on 01/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm glad I read the reviews cautioning about the sizing on this jacket. I usually wear a 4 or 6 in tops and coats, but I ordered an 8 because of my height. I'm pretty tall (5'9'') and have long arms, and I would not want this jacket to be any smaller nor the arms to be any shorter. As it is it fits perfectly with just enough room for a winter weight layer underneath. Love the cuff loops, love the adaptability, love the color, love the not-too-puffy look. It's really warm (granted I live in Tucson, but it does get cold at night here in the winter) without being cumbersome. I only left off one star because the sizing is tricky, even for Lole.
By chahuck from Southern Oregon on 01/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love this jacket! It is perfect for resort skiing and around town. Would be too warm for the backcountry. I am a size 8 and went up to a 10 per other reviews. Enough room for a sweater but I wear just a base layer and the jacket and stay comfy all day on the lifts. My guy friends wish they could have such a versatile jacket! Great value!
By Jae from Helena, Montana on 12/31/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a more feminine winter jacket that could take a Montana winter, but also hold up as a cute, practical coat for when I go to bigger cities. This is a great coat for what I was looking for. Haven't tested it out skiing or during more rigorous activity, but it's definitely warm and I love that you can wear it several different ways. Thanks to the ratings before me, b/c I am normally an 8 in tops and I went with a 10. It does seem to run small compared to other manufacturers. I said "runs true to size" b/c it does measure out to the Classic Fit measurements, but overall, I don't normally wear a 10. The sleeves are too long, but it's so great, it doesn't matter.
By Dana in Denmark from Ventura, CA on 12/25/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket for Christmas in Denmark (hovers around freezing point +/-) and it has been PERFECT. It is high quality, high style, very versatile, light weight and super cozy without making me feel overly hot. The hood is great too- I don't even need to wear a hat. I did need to return the size 8 (which I pretty consistently am) for a 10, but I am a bit busty from nursing at the moment. The 10 fits perfect and is still stylishly fitting.
