By Mommy in Seattle from Snoqualmie, WA on 11/24/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I read the reviews about the sizing. I think the jack is pretty true to fit. I can usally wear a size 2, but I opted for a size 4. It's big enough that I can wear a sweater under it.
I like that you can wear the jacket 4 different ways. The color is great. It's not a "typical" jacket color. We have had a few cold days in Seattle and it seems to be warm enough. I went out in the rain and I stayed dry. The next test is to stay in the rain longer and see how well the jacket works.
Overall it's a great jacket, great price and very stylish.
wish I'd known about this jacket sooner! By Patch from St. Paul, MN on 11/11/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I usually wear a medium in outerwear, however a size 8 was feeling too tight across the shoulders and chest for me (and I am not a large-chested person). In the end I got a size 10 in the dark chocolate, and although the sleeves are now a bit long, I'm happy with how I feel in the jacket. I love all of the features that come with it (can't have enough pockets!), the hood is one of the most spacious I've come across, and I like that it is long enough to keep my hips warm. And, the Mimi looks really nice (not a shapeless, puffy blob)!
The best versatile jacket for winter! By Ranger Julie from Alta, Wyoming on 10/21/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is extremely versatile! It's comfortable, stylish and warm. The sleeves zip off to make a vest. The hood can be removed easily. The faux fur can be removed from the hood. It has a removable ski skirt, and the sleeves have thumb holes!
By susan from exeter, nh on 08/20/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I am soooo disappointed, but this has to go back. This is the smallest 14 I've ever seen, ironically, the arms are long enough which is usually my biggest problem.
Good, all-around down jacket By Michelle, the bike commuter from Boston, MA on 08/03/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The jacket has very thoughtful features (MP3 pocket, thumb hole in the inner sleeve), but the color (sort of a burnt umber) is regrettable. Should have ordered the gray!
Really nice, but runs true to large By Springs from NY on 07/13/2008 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is really pretty, the faux fur looks very good; the fit is true to large (I'm a 36c on top, wear a size 10 blazer)--I ordered the 14 based on feedback comments but needed to reorder the 12 (still waiting to see if that will fit better). But the coat is pretty (no Michelin man look on this one).
By 007Arty from Australia on 05/20/2008 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket looks and feels great to wear and is nice and warm. I read another review that said that the sizing runs small so I bought a US size 10 (I am an 8) and it fits perfectly.
