By Tonya from Randleman, NC on 03/02/2008 Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This would be a good product if there werent a seam that runs dont the front of it. It fits so tight that the seam pushes on your nose and makes it too uncomfortable to wear. I wouldn't tell anyone to get this even if it is a good price. Comfort is everything when you are going to be outdoors for many hours.
By Jason from New Orleans on 01/08/2008 Cons: Not Breathable, Poor Fit Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill, Freestyle Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have owned several of these for my motorcycles or skiing addictions but this one is the worst.
The hole for your eyes is too small or the elastic is too tight, which ever it isn't fun dealing with it.
Also the mask has a seam running down the from of the face area. This may not seem like a big deal while trying it on but after a day on the hill you will have a nice line/brushburn on your face.
I returned my mask and purchased the Terramar EC2 Balaclava, item# 89275, at double the price it is still a great deal and you will be much more happy with it.
Its seems are flat folded and don't run down your face. Also since it is really two piece you can adjust the face hole to the size you are comfortable with (above nose, above mouth, about chin or below chin) lots of options to keep from fogging goggles or glasses.
By Jason from New Orleans on 01/05/2008 Pros: Breathable, Dries Easily, Good Protection, Warm Best Uses: Backcountry, Cross Country, Downhill, Freestyle Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: There is a seam that runs right down the front of this mask, across your nose-lips and chin. Extremely bad design and also on the small size.
Save your money and get something else.
Little clostrophobic in this! By Jgates from Orlando, FL on 01/03/2008 Pros: Good Protection, Warm Cons: Not Breathable, The hole is too small Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Used this to downhill at Big Sky, MT. It was freezing there. This did keep my face and neck very warm, but the hole is so small that sometimes I felt claustrophobic as I couldn't get enough O2! Good for the price!
By CWRider from Norristown, PA on 12/31/2007 Pros: Breathable, Good Fit, Good Protection, Warm Describe Yourself: Advanced Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It is a tight fit, but for under a full face motorcycle helmet that's what I need. But big head or lots of hair then yeah it might be a tad too tight.
The center stitch is thick, but all balacavas seem to have that problem.
By Don N. from Westchester, NY on 12/28/2007 Pros: Breathable, Dries Easily, Good Fit, Good Protection, Warm Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This Balaclava is the best cold weather clothing item that you could own. I recently climbed Mt McKinley in sub-zero temperatures wearing only this and my skivvies and I was fine.
