By norseman from Alaska on 11/19/2008 Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought them to wear under our snow mobile helmets. There's nothing great about the product. It doesn't fit well, the nose piece area is too loose & your can't tighten it up to fit snuggly. The elastic band fits too far down the back curve of your head. Therefore it slides down towards your neck and then pulls the whole mask down off your face. Worthless & the person that invented it obviously didn't spend time in harsh winter conditions.
Works well but room for improvement. By lansford from Brainerd, MN on 11/17/2008 Pros: Breathable, Good Protection, Warm Describe Yourself: Advanced Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used this deer hunting in 22 degree weather and skiing in -10. The theory behind the mask is less of your core energy is used to heat the air you breathe. On that front it is successful. This past weekend I went deer hunting for the 5th time this year but the first time I used the polarwrap. The first 4 times hunting I struggled to keep my hands and feet warm. I tried down mittens with liners and electric insoles for my boots. In the first 4 cases I was cold in about 2 hours. Using the polarwrap I stayed warm without using the insoles or a mitten over my shooting hand. The downside to the polarwrap is it tends to slip down on the face out of ideal positioning. Breathing is also a little labored. If you wear glasses they may fog up. I solved this problem by wearing contacts. When skiing the polarwrap was again great but the polarwrap had some trouble keeping up with a high respiratory rate. There is model they make with a strap that goes over the head so the thing can not slip down on the face. I would buy that model again.
By Tom from Portland, Oregon on 10/04/2008 Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This thing is sized for someone with a big head -- like a gorilla, or perhaps a moose. I've found it works best for me (stays on a little bit)when I put it on upside down.
Even then, it's horrible -- it doesn't stay put; I need to hold up the breathing hole to keep it from slipping. I really don't know how this company let it out the door.
I think there are probably some good designs out there for this use, but stay away from this one. I'd recommend a scarf, or even wrapping a shirt over your face before buying this.
OUCH! Should be used for punishment By Beast from Madison, MS on 08/22/2008 Best Uses: Hunting Fishing Describe Yourself: Advanced Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: You know the feeling you get when your shoes are too tight or your underwear is too tight? Same feeling with this on your face. Would have returned it but won't net enough of a refund after shipping to fool with it.
Don't judge a book by its cover By Consumer Lidia from McLean, VA on 01/28/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I would like the product more if it fit better especially around the jawline area. I seem to like the smaller version of the ST mask by polarwrap which I bought as a Christmas gift for my brother. Now that is a good buy.

[...]this product is very uncomfortable, and does not stay in place.
By Reviewer54 from Denver, CO on 01/16/2008 Cons: Not Breathable, Poor Fit Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Well, it seemed like a good idea - warm the air you breathe before inhaling - but they apparently forgot to make it reasonably easy to breathe in. I couldn't use it for sleeping out in the winter, and I did try. Perhaps a newer version will have addressed the issue.
