One had a line of stitching where the mouth would be located. The other one did not. So, I guess it was just an irregular stitching. We kept it, though as it fits my 7 year old well. I would not get it for a child ten or over as it would probably be too small.

It fit perfectly under my Santa hat and I was able to pull the bottom of the face opening up or down as needed to adjust my level of comfort. It kept my neck warm without being bulky and I only had to use this one item for my head, ears and neck instead of the three that some of my coworkers were wearing.

They fit remarkably well, being a little large on my younger girls but still very functional.
They are suprisingly thick (thicker than the Wickers Expedition Weight Balaclava) but being too warm has yet to be a problem.
There are no annoying seams and the children really like to wear them. It would be nice if they were longer in the back of the neck, but otherwise they are quite good.
