It is oversized, which worked well when I used it on a boat ride out into the ocean near San Diego-- it gets chilly on the water.

It also seems to hold moisture very well. But it is just so big that none of the knots that I know for neckerchiefs work with it - I can't for the life of me copy the knot style shown here on STP's product page. I wish I could, as it's very handsome.
I hope a future reviewer will outline their method for tying this thing around their neck! When I wear it on mine, it's so long that it looks like Fred's from Scooby Doo.

They are very generously sized so I fold it twice when I want to use it as a head wrap and once when I want to use it as neck protection.
