The style is cute, matches a very dark navy wool coat I have, and the fit is on target. I liked having different sizes from which to choose, unlike many basic winter hats for skiing, etc. that only come in one size and stretch. I bought a large after measuring my head and consulting the chart. The wool on this hat is more scratchy than I'd like, but it is tolerable because the hat is lined and has a fabric hatband where it touches the head.

It's 30 degrees below zero today (!!) and I am warm and the hat stays on in 20-30 mph winds. Plus, the band is low enough that telltale hat hair is non-existent.

Wearing this hat made me feel like the downstairs part of the upstairs/dowmstairs relationship. I really tried to like this hat because of the fabric and quality, but in the end I had to face the fact that it was not flattering and I returned it.

My teenage daughters are somewhat embarrassed of me in my hat (maybe I look slightly like I should be selling flowers on a London streetcorner!) but I like it- the brim is wide enough but not obtrusive, and it has some shape (I am hideous in stocking caps!), but is soft and warm. I ordered a large, and it is about right for me- doesn't crush my hairstyle, yet stays on and keeps me warm. (If anything, it is slightly on the large size, and I have trouble finding winter hats that are large enough)

It is not knit, so it sits on your head without any pressure. It has a good interior hat band so the wool never touches your skin. Very stylish, too.
